Mahdi (Sum) Qezlou

Check out all the cool science I do.

I'm Sum Qezlou, (I go by Mahdi Qezlou on papersHow to pronounce my name ). With a background in Astrophysics, Data Science, and Machine Learning, I currently serve as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, contributing to the groundbreaking HETDEX observational survey.

Recently awarded my PhD from the University of California, Riverside, I conducted research as a graduate researcher fellow at the Carnegie Observatories.

My work focuses on utilizing cutting-edge cosmological simulations and Machine Learning methodologies to model various aspects of the universe, including the distribution of galaxies, their emissions, and the intergalactic gas (known as the Lyman-alpha Forest). I actively participate in collaborations such as PRIYA simulation and LATIS observational projects.
